   To watch over a person while they are using drugs; to act as a trip sitter.

   • My friend Beth, who trip sat me in the early days (remember her from the section “Breaks in Time”?) died during the writing of this book. I ask, “Where is Beth?”
   • The program also notched up almost 500 “intense interventions”, ranging from treating nausea from drinking too much alcohol to “trip sitting” patrons who had taken drugs and encountered a “challenging psychedelic experience”.
