    • ... pseudotaxonomy, is completely rejected. Hamshaw Thomas had already argued in print that fossils of flowering plants contradicted, or at best failed to confirm, the supposedly evolutionary arrangement of the higher plant taxa.
    • Their approach is to sort specimens based on their major morphological characteristics, rather than their strict taxonomy. They named this type of pseudotaxonomy the morphospecies approach.
