    A mode of interaction with a remote server where all incoming text characters are printed to the current line, without the possibility of updating the text of previous lines.

    • This example, since it is via telnet, uses the linemode browser. The user will be able to explore the web, but will not be able to use a hypertext-based interface.
    • In line-at-a-time or linemode, basically all the character processing including backspacing is done by the client, with the desired characters sent to the server only when the enter key is pressed.
