  1. The etiquette dictating how one should behave in chat rooms.

    • Each chat room functions in accordance with its own rules. They may be written rules in the form of chatiquette. Chatiquette prescribes what behavior is frowned upon and what the sanctions are.
    • As long as no one causes any offence to others in the room, and adheres ^([sic]) to the basic rules of 'chatiquette', they can then remain in that room for as long as they wish, or until everyone else has left the room.
    • Chatiquette is similar to netiquette in terms of the words and behavior acceptable while participating in a chat room.
