baker's chocolate

noun

Etymology

Originally a brand name, Baker's Chocolate, produced by the Baker Chocolate Company, founded in part by and named for James Baker. The fact that the chocolate is used by bakers probably influenced the selection, and surely influenced the genericization, of the name.
