   Part of a cryptic crossword clue indicating that the letters of another word or phrase in the clue should be anagrammed.

   • This is really good. Esp. the beard clue, and 2D, except I don't see the purpose of the scare quotes around 'fantastic' -- there must be a better anagrind for this -- diabolical? weird?
   • The surface isn't quite ideal: for the candymaker to eat the candy ... but confection is good for anagrind, I see upon checking ... same as concoction.
   • "Oldster maybe, but she can drag man away" (7) anag(drag man): definition too vague and weakish anagrind.
