Shaw + bridge. From Shaw Bridge. Named after Canadian farmer William Shaw, a local settler whose farm was linked to the local community via his bridge over the Rivière du Nord river, latterly known as the Shaw Bridge; his farm becoming the start of the Shawbridge community.
